This is a 25 minute long, in-depth video demonstration of rolling coils, building, blending, and maintaining symmetry within a large coil pot.

Throughout this demo, Sage uses a minimal number of essential tools and works entirely in her house to illustrate the versatility and approachability of hand building. This is a process that requires limited knowledge of clay to get started. As long as you have determination and are willing to commit to lots of practice, these coil pots can be built from just about anywhere.

For this demo you will need around 25lbs of a stoneware/sculptural clay body (not all of it will be used, but having extra is always helpful), a wire cutter, a banding wheel, an mdf or wooden bat, a serrated metal rib, a pin tool, and a paddle.
