Making a Rounded Teapot from Flat Slabs | $20 Donation
This is a video demonstration of creating a rounded body teapot from slabs. This video will cover the process of forming, shaping, connecting, attaching a spout, and finishing a teapot.
For this demo you will need 5 pounds of clay a ruler, a needle tool or small knife, a a rolling pin, a banding wheel, a wooden bat (or other soft surface that can sit on banding wheel), paddle, metal kidney rib, serrated metal kidney rib, narrow handled paintbrush with soft bristles, hard bristle paintbrush, hole driller (or drill bit), wooden potter’s knife, thin metal rod, sponge, small piece of thin plastic for burnishing . Other tools can be used in place of these items so feel free to get creative!
