Large Leather Box + Wild Clay Cup | Curated Set no. 08
Large Leather Box + Wild Clay Cup | Curated Set no. 08
A Wild Clay cappuccino cup, wrapped in a silk bag, and enclosed in a small, full grain leather box.
Sage and Krista collaborated to create handsome and practical wrappings for these cups. Their aim was to showcase the unique qualities of the hand-dug wild clay used to make them, and to ensure the cups are protected and easily carried. The wrappings are not only visually appealing but also independently significant and useful. Give the perfect, complete gift or treat yourself to a multifunctional set for the tea house or coffeeshop.

Beautiful, yet gnarly. Colorful, but dull. Rough and smooth.
Nestled in the hillside surrounding Sage's home and pottery studio, lies an array of natural materials to be foraged. With a little attention and a lot of curiosity, she crafts wild clay, pigments, and various plant fibers into functional wares of the home. This clay is more than a medium; it is a connection to the land.
Each piece goes through a series of careful steps, with the clay being minimally refined and then delicately layered over multiple firings. This method allows the clay to meld together, transforming into a beautifully finished textured surface that reflects the depth and character of the location it was gathered from.
Out of appreciation for ethically sourced leather, Krista uses hide offcuts from the beef industry to make her leather products. Every stitch and detail is made with skill and passion. These pieces bear marks and imperfections which tell the story of their material origins.
*Please note that full grain leather will show some variation in color and markings from piece to piece. Hardware/clasps may vary slightly, due to supply.
