At first glance, the surface only appears dark + metallic, but the real fascination is in its transformative nature. As harsh daylight caresses the surface, it illuminates the depth of color hidden within — a reflection of the location from which it came.
Each piece goes through a series of careful steps, with the clay being minimally refined and then delicately layered over multiple firings. This method allows the clay to meld together, transforming into a beautifully finished glazed surface that reflects the depth and character of the location it was gathered from.

Beautiful, yet gnarly. Colorful, but dull. Rough and smooth. Wild clay beautifully exhibits the imperfections of its untamed origin, resulting in a variability of finish and surface texture.
