Small Spouted Bowl in Thrice Fired Wild Clay
Small spouted bowl glazed in Minam Pass wild clay over a Chocolate stoneware body with a Brilliant White interior.
Crafted for the purpose of preparing, sipping, + pouring matcha, coffee or other beverages. While these bowls all have a similar form, each is uniquely shaped, allowing for individual character.
Nestled in the hillside surrounding Sage's home and pottery studio, lies an array of natural materials to be foraged. With a little attention and a lot of curiosity, she crafts wild clay, pigments, and various plant fibers into functional wares of the home. This clay is more than a medium; it is a connection to the land.
Wild clay collected from Minam Pass in Wallowa County, Oregon. Minimally refined, then toned with a white stoneware for color.
Fired three times, reaching 2232° F, oxidation.
Wild clay beautifully exhibits the imperfections of its untamed origin, resulting in a variability of finish and surface texture.
